The Google redirect virus is a type of virus that operates by altering the Google search engine results so that it displays affiliate and advertisement links instead of the real search results. Your computer gets infected by visiting an infected site. A trojan downloads in the background secretly. It usually executes whenever you open your browser. There are several mutations of the Google redirect virus out there. Some mutations will not only change search results, they will also display pop-up ads which is really annoying. Users who are experiencing this type of problems do not need to worry because they can easily fix Google redirect virus and also keep their systems away from future attacks by it.
The first step to fix Google redirect virus is to open the “System32” folder found in the Windows folder located at the local drive or the drive C. Once you are inside the System 32 folder, look for “regedit.exe”. Click on it. The next step is to rename “regedit.exe” to something you can remember easily. Now, disable it. The reason for this is that this is the place where the Google redirect virus executes from.The next step is to download the anti-malware software and run it in their system. It is very important to download the most recent version of anti-mailware. Why? Because only the most updated version might be able to get rid of Google redirect virus and it will also fix other infections. You should also make sure that the website you are downlaoding anti-malware from is reputable, secure, and does not infect your PC with even more viruses or trojans This is important because there are many unscrupulous vendors who offer spyware as software and the user will be exposing their systems to more harm. Once you have donwloaded a reputable anti malware software make sure to scan ALL files and folders on your harddrive to make sure all viruses and othe rmalicious code gets found.
Once the scan has been completed and all infections have been fixed with the help of the anti malware software, go back to your System32 folder. You probably remember that you renamed “regedit.exe”. Rename it back to “regedit.exe” now. Ok, after you have completed the step above go to the start menu, click on run. Now you will have to type in “regedit”. This will open the registry editor window. On this window, you will find “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE” on which you should select software. Inside the “software” folder select “Microsoft”. In the “Windows” tab select “Current Version” and “run” On the right hand window that appears you should select the executable file “RegSVR32=%system%msmsgs.exe” and delete it by right clicking on it and selecting delete.
It is extremely important to double or even triple check that you are deleting the right file. If you delete another file you might delete an important registry file which may result in having to install the whole operating system again. To complete the process you are required to restart the computer.
If you have done everything correctly, Google redirect virus should be gone. I recommend going to Google and starting a search to make sure the virus is indeed gone. Your Google search results should now take you to real websites and not to fake affiliate sites. One last thing: to prevent another infection, make sure to update your anti-virus software.

I need a new laptop computer because my Dell is dead.
I consider Dell a piece of crap:
- the charger is dead
- the DVD writer had problems with writing discs when it was new and I had to use a firmware. Now it does not read DVDs anymore.
- the laptop can’t find the battery – I have read about this on a lot of forums and a many people have this problem: the laptop is not seeing the battery and if you buy a new one you will have the same problem.
